Grinding Gear Games has announced Path of Exile 2 1.0 has a December release date.

The studio announced the long-awaited schedule update with a trailer that premiered at gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) 2026, confirming plans to bring its free-to-play action-RPG to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S December 11, 2026. The footage mixed together Path of Exile 2 gameplay with cinematics while promising that players will finally get their hands on a complete build just in time for the holidays.

Grinding Gear revealed more information on its website, directing interested fans to register for more information. Those who do can unlock exclusive rewards.

“Path of Exile 2 is a next-generation action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, featuring co-op for up to six players,” an official description on its Steam page said. “Path of Exile 2 takes place in the land of Wraeclast, a dark continent populated by unique cultures, ancient secrets, and monstrous dangers. A sinister threat, long thought destroyed, has begun creeping back on the edge of civilisation, driving people mad and sickening the land with Corruption.”

Grinding Gear first launched Path of Exile 2 in an early access state in December 2024. All the buildup led to a massive launch on Steam, and now, after a few years of ups and downs, the full launch will finally bring the team’s vision for launch to life. Part of that vision includes the Duelist, a new class showcased in today’s trailer that will be available at launch.

IGN called Path of Exile 2 early access “Great” in our 8/10 review. Even in its unrefined state at the time, we said its “redefined action and surprisingly fleshed-out endgame” got things off to a good start. While we wait for updates, be sure to check out everything announced at gamescom ONL 2026.
