Clockwork Revolution re-emerged at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 to confirm it will launch in 2027 as an Xbox console exclusive.

Developer inXile Entertainment helped close out today’s show with a lengthy look at the kind of antics players can expect from its steampunk world. While Microsoft wasn’t willing to lock in a firm release date quite yet, Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty did confirm that it will launch as an Xbox console exclusive, meaning Microsoft has no plans to bring it to PS5.

Clockwork Revolution will introduce players to a new, steampunk first-person RPG world when it launches next year. You can dip your toes into that new Xbox universe with its The Heist trailer below.

This latest look at inXile’s time-based adventure offers a sneak peek at the glistening city of Avalon and the cast of characters who inhabit it. The trailer teased a few of those characters, including Avalon’s ruler, Lady Ironwood, and Prentice, a small robot friend who will join main character Morgan Vanette early in the story.

As players manipulate time to rewrite history and twist the world around them, they’ll also shape Avalon, with some of Morgan’s powers highlighted in today’s footage. An Xbox Wire post shared more information about inXile’s new steampunk setting.

“Avalon can be beautiful, but it isn’t a utopia,” it said. “It runs on industry and ambition, and it stays polished up top by keeping its dirty hands underneath the table. From the ash-choked streets of the Tangle to the lavish promenades where the city pretends it’s something better — everything here has a cost, and the folks at the bottom usually pay for it.

“Crime bosses might request a foul-mouthed automaton in trade for their services, while places like the Burning House offer a different kind of service. They soothe their clientele’s pains, and performers like Commodity command the room — equal parts spectacle and survival. This is Avalon. It takes a special kind of person to survive here, and that person is you.”

Clockwork Revolution was announced in 2023 as a new IP for the inXile team. While we wait for it to launch for PC, cloud, and Xbox Series X | S, you can catch up on all of the biggest reveals with everything announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
