Throne and Liberty Early Access Patch Notes Tease Major Changes and New Conten

Throne and Liberty fans, mark your calendars—early access is coming on September 26th, and NCSoft, in collaboration with Amazon Game Studios, has just dropped some meaty patch notes that will make you want to dive right in. After a year and a half of fine-tuning the MMORPG for its western release, the devs have implemented a slew of changes based on open beta feedback. So, what’’s new?

First up, the leveling process has been revamped. Gone are the days of slogging through slow XP gains—expect a more streamlined experience with better pacing, clearer tooltips, and quests that go beyond your standard “kill X monsters” fare. NCSoft promises improved gear progression and rewards to keep you hooked as you ascend the ranks.

One big focus in the western version is combat diversity. Skill Specialization now shines with a cap of 24 active abilities per weapon combo and passive armor set bonuses. There are also tweaks to camera settings and controls to enhance the flow of combat. PvP balance is also front and center, with lower-level power scaling and fairer rules for Dynamic Events and Guild Alliances. Solo players rejoice—drop rates in certain areas have also been improved to give you a fighting chance.

New content? You bet. Expect fresh 3v3 Arena PvP and two co-op dungeons—The Gate of Infinity and Amitoi Expeditions, where your trusty Amitoi pets will go on adventures to fetch handy items. Plus, the addition of life skills like cooking and fishing, and a slew of co-op dynamic events.

In terms of quality-of-life improvements, cross-server matchmaking is coming, auction houses will be clustered across servers for economic stability, and the dreaded XP and debuff penalties on death have officially been removed. No more crying over lost XP!
